The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the United States Department of State has developed an educational initiative to support students with high academic potential and low income.  The "Opportunity Funds" program will be discussed in a talk on February 25th, at 18:30, at CEDEI's main location (Gran Colombia 11-02 and General Torres ). The talk is free and open to the public.

The "Opportunity" initiative aims to provide talented Ecuadorian students with limited financial resources the chance to apply to universities in the United States, at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In Ecuador, the EducationUSA academic advising centers are responsible for administering this program. In Cuenca, the offices are located in the CEDEI Foundation's central building (Gran Colombia 11-02 and General Torres).

This initiative aims to reduce barriers, mainly economic, for deserving students in order to receive high-quality higher education.
