Opportunity Funds is a scholarship that covers pre-university costs for students who want to study in the USA for undergraduate or graduate degrees. The deadline to apply for this program is February 29!
The goal of this scholarship is to reduce economic obstacles for deserving students hoping to benefit from higher education in the USA. The scholarship does NOT cover tuition nor living
expenses. The Opportunity Funds program is a U.S. Department of State initiative designed to give support to students with high potential but low economic resources. The program covers, up to a certain point, the following expenses:
- Prep courses for required standardized tests.
- Academic document translations.
- Mailing national and international documents.
- Registration fees for required standardized tests.
- School application fees.
- Student visa application and SEVIS fees.
- Plane tickets to the USA.
- A stipend for immediate expenses upon arrival to the USA.
In Ecuador, EducationUSA centers are charged with the administration of the Opportunity Funds program that give financial assistance to help combat college application expenses.
