The study abroad students currently studying in CEDEI's Department of International Programs will have cooking lessons as part of this week's activities, where they'll learn how to make typical Ecuadorian dishes.
The Fall Semester students will learn the secrets of making "fritada," a dish whose main ingredient is pork. They will also learn how to prepare "motepillo" and a typical potato soup called "locro de papas." The students, with the guidance of a professional chef, will cook and enjoy these delicious Cuencano dishes.
This activity is part of getting to know more about the Ecuadorian and Latin American reality, which is very important in learning about another culture. The students will have many other activities such as lectures, tours, classes, and workshops, while continuing to take classes in their college majors, for which they will receive credit.
