Ecuador is a country recognized for its ethnic and cultural diversity. For this reason the foreign students who are in the International Programs office will participate in activities focus on explore and learn more about this diversity.
Currently, International Programs office is working with two groups of international universities, Fall Semester and Fall Education, who are living in Cuenca – Ecuador with the purpose of continue with their studies and learn about the Ecuadorian and Latin-American culture.
This week the Fall Semester group will visit Saraguro. This city is located in the south highlands of Ecuador where an indigenous community with the same name lives. Here the group will have the opportunity to observe nearly their beliefs and customs.
Also this group will assist to a natural medicine lecture where they will learn about the uses of different plants. On the other hand the Fall Education group will assist to a lecture about the cultural identity and bilingualism of Shuar, a different ethnic of Ecuador.
