Fall Semester in the Andes is a group of foreign students that arrived in Ecuador on the 30th of August. When they arrive to Cuenca they will begin their classes at CEDEI’s International Programs department on the 7th of September. During the next days the students will visit various places in the northern Ecuadorian mountains.
The tour will start in Otavalo. From there they will go to Peguche, where they will visit weaving and Andean instrument workshops. They will learn about handmade goods and about the skilled Ecuadorian artisans that make them. After this they will go to Quito where they will visit the historic center of the city, la Capilla del Hombre, and the Mitad del Mundo.
This trip is part of the initial schedule for the Fall Semester students. During it they will visit important places in Ecuador and receive Orientations to help them learn about our culture, security measures and rules for living with host families.
This group is made up of 15 university students that are form various centers of higher learning in the United States, Canada, and France.
The group will arrive in Cuenca on September 6th and here they will meet their host families and whole International Programs staff. Their host families will receive them as if they were a member of the family.
On the 7th of September they will start their academic studies with credit bearing classes which will allow them to receive credit from their foreign universities.
