The dream of continuing their higher education in the United States will be a reality very soon for Cuencana students, Viviana Chávez and Damiana Pacheco. These students have been selected for study at La Guardia Community College (New York) and Virginia Tech University (Virginia), respectively.

It all started a year ago! After learning about the services offered by the EducationUSA center and being certain that they wanted to study in the states, Viviana and Damiana began the application process.

Like all applicants, they completed the following 4 steps:

  1. Investigate study options.
  2. Fund your studies.
  3. Complete the application.
  4. Apply for the student visa.

After those steps, both students attended the “Pre-Departure Orientation” information session organized by the advisers at EducationUSA. This orientation is designed for students who have been accepted into programs in Uncle Sam’s country and who have the student visa.

The Pre-Departure Orientation aims to prepare students by giving them information on the requirements to maintain their student visas, how to find housing, what to do when they arrive in the US & more. This information session has no cost whatsoever and usually takes place 2 or 3 months before the students’ departure.

Now, Viviana and Damiana are ready to leave, thanks to all the support given by the advisers at EducationUSA!
