January 20 is the deadline to apply for the “Opportunity Funds” program, an educational advising initiative for students with high academic potential and low economic resources.
This program is supported by the U.S. Department of State. In Ecuador, the centers of EducationUSA are charged with the administration of the “Opportunity Funds”, which is an advising program that takes place over the course of approximately 1 year. So long as the Opportunity Funds recipient follows through with the requirements of the program, they have the opportunity to apply to universities in the USA at the undergraduate and graduate level.
The “Opportunity Funds” program offers financial assistance to help combat the costs of the application process. With the help of this initiative, deserving students will be able to reduce economic obstacles and receive high quality education (the program does not cover tuition or living expenses in the USA).
Those interested in the Opportunity Funds program and in Higher Education in the USA can visit the EducationUSA offices located at Gran Colombia 11-02 y General Torres (CEDEI Foundation, 2nd floor).
